The Best Yoga Props
Yoga props are great tools for helping you to practice yoga more safely and effectively. For example yoga props like blocks and bolsters serve a purpose in a variety of yoga practices, including yin and restorative. If you don’t know where to begin with finding the right props for you. Here's a list of my favorites and alternatives you can use if you don't have some of my listed items available.
Blocks are great for alignment and flexibility in your practice. If you don’t have blocks handy you can always use a large book or stacks of books.
Straps are helpful for balance and reaching. If you don’t a traditional yoga strap you can always use a scarf in it’s place or a belt from your bath robe.
Blankets serve a variety of purposes including, comforting the knees or keeping you warm in restorative yoga. If you don’t have a blanket you can use a folded towel.
Bolsters work well in a restorative practice because they can be used for getting you into yoga poses. If you don’t have a bolster you can use a cushion.
Yoga props are used as a tool for getting you comfortable in whatever position you are trying to get into or already in. From Vinyasa to restorative classes, I have made yoga props an important part of my practice. I use them at home and use them in classes I go to with other yoga teachers. Remember, each person is on their own yoga journey and it is important for you to find the props that work best for you and your own individual needs.
